TecSmarts was never about fixing what others broke. It started because what we needed didn’t exist.
In the early ’90s, Myles Russell couldn’t find the telecommunications equipment New Zealand actually needed—so he rolled up his sleeves and built it himself. With a family loan, an assembly line full of willing teenagers, and a knack for practical problem-solving, he created tools that didn’t yet exist and built a business grounded in responsiveness, reliability, and real-world results.
He didn’t wait for the right supplier.
He became one!
That ethos became the foundation of TecSmarts:

And while Myles has since retired, the spirit of ingenuity, integrity, and showing up when it counts,
is still wired into everything we do.
